CASE STUDY:
Switch-Off Ready: Pewsey Vale School Modernises with 3CX and Free UK Calls

“3CX makes perfect sense for any school, and on cost alone it wins face down”
Results
- 10-day migration from ISDN to SIP with inclusive free UK landline/mobile calls
- Fresh 3CX licensing unlocked softphone, call recording, emergency broadcast and auto updates
- Reception auto-attendant and clearer numbering improved call flow across 62 extensions
- Staff use the 3CX app on personal devices without exposing personal numbers
- Buy-back funded new handsets – legacy Cisco replaced with a managed, sustainable setup
- Resilient, scalable platform – ready for the PSTN/ISDN switch-off, with reporting for better decisions
“Clarion told us that they could deliver much more for us than we were expecting – and they did”
PREVIOUS Challenges
Pewsey Vale ran 3CX over 4 ISDN channels for 62 extensions, but an unsupported legacy licence, end-of-life Cisco handsets and dropped calls made telephony unreliable. With costs rising on ISDN and no access to 3CX features (softphone, recording, emergency broadcast), the school even considered a separate Vodafone mobile contract. On a tight budget, they needed a fast, future-proofed fix – so they asked Clarion.
“I was stunned by the speed at which Clarion turned it around… Within a week and a half we had phones up and running on site”
