OVERVIEW

Most enterprises using Office 365 will also have access to Teams, Microsoft’s fast-growing business messaging and communications tool. Microsoft is pushing Teams as being far more than just a hub for chat. More features are regularly being added to the platform. Now there is the option to deploy it as a replacement for a traditional Phone System using Direct Routing. We can help you set up Phone System and show you how to take it a stage further so it becomes a true, unified communications platform for your business.

MANAGING AND USING MICROSOFT PHONE SYSTEM

Microsoft-Teams-Phone-SystemMicrosoft Phone System gives administrators a choice of custom settings, control reports and configuration tools. Users enjoy a rich set of telephony features, accessible straight from their desktop.

  • Single application for full UC – video, voice, presence and chat
  • Use a mobile device, a PC or laptop, or an IP phone with Teams compatibility.

System administrators can manage the entire voice system from a single graphic interface and configure different types of voice and video calls.

CONNECTING PHONE SYSTEM TO THE PSTN

With the appropriate license, Microsoft Teams Phone System allows you to replace your existing PBX system with a cloud-based experience based on the Office 365 application. While it has numerous features that meet most business telephony requirements, if you also wish to make and receive outside calls, you need to connect Phone System to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).

CALLING PLAN OR DIRECT ROUTING

Microsoft has two main options for PSTN Connectivity: Calling Plan or Direct Routing.  Either of these can transform your phone system from being one designed for internal use, to being one that can communicate with the outside world too.

The more flexible option of Direct Routing enables you to stay with your existing PSTN supplier and negotiate rates with your current provider. Clarion can provide dedicated SIP Trunks but for larger deployments we also offer a contended SIP Trunk model.

Clarion can advise you on 365 licensing and how to set up Direct Routing. Call or email to ask us how Microsoft Phone System can be utilised in your organisation, and how we can save money for you with Direct Routing.
